Get involved!

How can you help?

  • Be less tidy! Allow leaves to lie on the ground over winter, create a log pile and leave an area of un-mown grass. These will provide food and shelter for garden beasties.
  • Put up bird and bat boxes.
  • Try and learn a new bird or flower each time you are out and keep a record of what you see.
  • Plant a garden for butterflies at your school. Plants like butterfly bush, lavender, wallflower, lobelia and honeysuckle.
  • Join an organisation that looks after local wildlife, like Scottish Wildlife Trust, Royal Society for the Protection of Birds or the Woodland Trust.
