How can you help?

Be less tidy! Allow leaves to lie on the ground over winter, create a log pile and leave an area of un-mown grass. These will provide food and shelter for garden beasties.
Put up bird and bat boxes.
Try and learn a new bird or flower each time you are out and keep a record of what you see.
Plant a garden for butterflies at your school. Plants like butterfly bush, lavender, wallflower, lobelia and honeysuckle.
Join an organisation that looks after local wildlife, like Scottish Wildlife Trust, Royal Society for the Protection of Birds or the Woodland Trust.

Volunteering Opportunities

Get involved with a project to improve the local biodiversity or your community. From surveying for water moles to erecting fences, there are plenty of activities for you to help with.
