Bulky Waste Collection Uplift

What type of service do we offer?

Clackmannanshire Council provides a 'bulky waste collection uplift' service for the removal of household waste that is too big to fit into your bin. Examples of the type of waste might include broken furniture, domestic appliances, carpets, cardboard etc.

Note that due to exceptionally high demand uplifts are currently taking around 28 days to complete.

How much does it cost?

Private Tenants

Private householders are charged £39.00 as of 1 April 2019 per uplift. All chargeable uplifts must be paid in advance.

Council Tenants

For Clackmannanshire Council tenants, the charge is covered by the rent tenants pay to the Housing Revenue Account (HRA). The number of uplifts available to tenants in the year is subject to the approved housing budget, and thereafter tenant requests will be subject to charging.

Paragon and Ochil View Tenants

Paragon Housing Association tenants are entitled to multiple uplifts as the charge is paid from the rent. Ochil View tenants may be entitled to a discounted rate dependent on location, please call Ochil View Housing on Tel: 01259 722899 for details.

Commercial Waste

Clackmannanshire Council also provides a Commercial Waste services. Prices vary dependent on bin size chosen and frequency of collection. Please call 01259 450000 to arrange or discuss this service.

Health & Safety Information

Please consider fire safety when storing materials to be uplifted. It is not good practice to store an item in a close or against a building as this is classed as a fire hazard.

Recycling or Donating Items

Another option is to use the National Re-use Collection Service.

If you have large items at home that you no longer need and are still in good condition, you can have them collected for free by calling the Re-use Line on 0800 0665 820. More information can be found at

The National re-use phone line collects bed frames, mattresses, chests of drawers, book cases, wardrobes, dressing tables, tables, chairs, sofas, armchairs, washing machines, electric cookers, fridge freezers and bikes.
